National Sunglasses Day is a commemorative date held annually on Tuesday 27th June highlighting the importance of wearing sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sun’s harsh ultraviolet (UV) rays.
Once you’ve had laser eye surgery at Visualase, the freedom you feel from not having to wear glasses anymore is amazing! But even though you won’t need to wear prescription sunglasses, you will still need protection for your eyes from the sun. So this is the perfect opportunity to win some stylish ones - and it’s great timing for summer!
To celebrate this day we are running a special campaign on our Facebook page where you could win a FREE pair of designer sunglasses!
Nowadays, we all use sunscreen to protect our skin, but you shouldn’t forget to protect your eyes as well. Long summer days means more time spent outdoors, and recent studies show that exposure to bright sunlight may increase the risk of developing eye problems in the future.
Don’t just assume you only need sunglasses when you are abroad on holiday to protect your eyes from strong sunlight reflected off the sand and water, you need them here at home too. If you’ve recently had laser eye correction, then it’s even more important to protect your eyes during the bright summer months, but everyone really should own a good pair of sunglasses, and you can win your very own with our competition!
It’s simple - all you need to do is:
Visit our Facebook page
Like our page and share our competition post
Comment on our competition post with a photo of yourself wearing your sunnies using the hashtag #SunglassSelfie
We’ll pick a winner based on the best selfie - so make it a good one!
