Is Monovision a solution once you pass age 40?

Published on 18th February 2014

Monovision is the term given to having laser eye correction were one eye treated for distance vision and the other eye treated for near vision, giving a blend of the two.

Everybody from mid 40's onwards will start to develop the need for reading glasses as this is due to the natural ageing of the eyes.

We have produced a patient friendly guide to Monovision Laser Eye Surgery that all patients falling into that age demographic ought to read if they are considering laser eye correction.

All eye surgical procedures carry a level of risk including not obtaining the desired outcome, through to varying levels of visual loss. Your eye surgeon will discuss the risks and benefits, including ones specific to your circumstances, at the time of your pre-operative consultation.
