Boxing & laser eye surgery - how soon after surgery can I get back to the sport?

Published on 22nd October 2012

Boxing is obviously a physical contact sport and serious discussion needs to take place between the patient and their doctor about the length of time required post laser eye correction before returning to this sport.

This may involve considering the technique of the laser eye surgery used as LASEK which is a surface treatment may be the most appropriate treatment to undergo in terms of resuming boxing.

Here at Visualase, your consultation is performed by your treating surgeon giving you ample opportunity to discuss your own individual case with him personally.

There really is no substitute for this valuable one-to-one time with your doctor and surprisingly this is quite rare as a lot of the "high-street" clinics do not offer this.

If you would like to arrange a consultation, please do not hesitate to get in touch with one of our friendly patient advisors who can make you an appointment.

All eye surgical procedures carry a level of risk including not obtaining the desired outcome, through to varying levels of visual loss. Your eye surgeon will discuss the risks and benefits, including ones specific to your circumstances, at the time of your pre-operative consultation.
