Q. Will I be able to drive home afterwards?
A. No. We advise you either to come with a friend, or alternatively
we can arrange a taxi to take you home
Q. I am over forty-five years old, will I still need reading glasses?
A.
Yes. Laser treatment cannot correct presbyopia, however it
is possible to have blended or mono vision to give an effect similar
to the CK treatment. More information about CK treatment here.
Q. How old do I need to be?
A. You must be over 18 and have had
a stable prescription for at least two years.
Q. Will I be completely free of glasses?
A. This cannot be guaranteed
but most people will not need glasses afterwards, a few will
choose to have either an enhancement or
to wear glasses occasionally.
Q. Could my eyes get worse again?
A. The treatments tends to be
very stable. During healing there is often a small change of
prescription, but this is allowed for
in the treatment plan. We cannot of course guarantee that everyone’s
eyes will stay the same over the years to come.
Q. Could I go blind, or could my vision be made worse?
A. Although
there have been reports of severe loss of vision following
treatment these cases are exceedingly rare.
Q. What if there is a power failure?
A. The clinic is equipped with
an uninterrupted power supply as a safety feature.
Q. What if I move my eye?
A. Our laser is fitted with a tracking device to compensate for any movement.
Q. I’m pregnant, can I still have my eyes done?
A. You should
not have treatment if you are pregnant or hope to be within 3
months as the hormone levels in your body can change
your refractive error.
Q. Can I rub my eyes afterwards?
A. You should not rub your eyes
until the healing process is well established.
Q. Can I wear eye make-up?
A. On the day of treatment you should
not wear perfume or make-up and you should wait a week before
wearing eye make-up again.
Q. When can I start playing sport again?
A. Usually after a week,
but swimming and contact sports should be avoided for 3 months.

Q. Can both eyes be done at once?
A. In PRK cases no, but in some
cases, LASIK, EPI-LASIK and LASEK may be done on both eyes
on the same day.

Q. Will I need to leave my contact lenses out?
A. Yes, you will need
to leave soft lenses out for five days and gas permeable lenses
out for four weeks before we can proceed.
This is the same for assessment as well as for treatment.
Q. Are there any extra costs?
A. No. All costs are accounted for
in one fee, even enhancements and medications.
Q. Can I pay in instalments?
A. Yes. Ask for details of our easy
